Art From Scrap is one of the leading environmental education organizations in Santa Barbara, California. Each year AFS Green Schools reaches 14,000 children through lessons and field trips covering the topics of Natural Resources, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Compost, Water Quality, and School Gardens.

AFS Green Schools supports teachers with resources, including teacher training workshops, the correlation of all of our lessons to the California State Education Standards, an environmental lending library, creek testing kits, classroom materials, and garden supplies.

Service Learning projects are encouraged for all classes and students that participate in AFS Green Schools, and are supported by the AFS Education Staff with Student Environmentalist awards at Earth Day.

Art From Scrap offers week-long summer camps that let children experience the environment in fun, creative and interactive ways.
